Starting with the Madone 5 series frameset, Trek using high-mod carbon fiber material increases the frame's stiffness to improve reponsiveness and acceleration. Combined with the new BB90 bottom bracket system, the frame is lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate than most other road bikes. Trek also redesigned the seatmast to reduce the weight while adding more vertical compliance for better transfer of power. Trek incorporated internal cable routing for a cleaner look.
