Tacx Video DVDs for TV

Video Cycling gives indoor training that extra dimension. Now Tacx has extended this concept to all indoor trainers. Video Cycling is a new and spectacular item for riders who have a trainer and a DVD player. The speed of the film is matched to the course. As you cycle, the film indicates the gear you should be in for climbing or descending. Gear shifting is manual. Video Cycling is also highly suitable for fitness centers during spinning workouts.

For use with a TV & DVD player, simply select your type of trainer & use the on screen display to manually change the resistance. A countdown timer lets you know how much more suffering you will have!

Route information
Now you start the 8.7 kilometer climb of Madonna del Ghisallo, the first 4 kilometers of which has an average percentage gradient of 9%. From the hamlet of Guello (630m) you cycle along a less steep section of about three kilometers until the village of Civenna (620m). The final part of the climb is once again steep with countless hairpin bends and percentage gradients reaching 10%. At the top lies the well-known community of Ghisallo (750m) with the church of Madonna del Ghisallo, who is the patron saint of cyclists. After this climb the road continues with an easy descent down to Asso (490m) where with a bend to the right the climb of Colma di Sormano (1,135m) starts. During this 9.5 kilometre climb you pass through the village of Sormano (800m) and continue with a percentage gradient of 6-7% to the end of the climb. At the top there is a small astronomic observatory. Here a fast 2 kilometer descent takes you into the ski resort of Piano del Tivano (975m). You carry on alongside Lake Como, passing the village of Zelbio (800m) and the descent ends in the village of Nesso (280m). Now you are back on the SS.583 the undulating road alongside Lake Como with alternating small climbs and descents as you cycle through hamlets like Faggeto Lario, Torno, and Blevio. The finish is in the town of Como (220m) on the main road along the coast.

Course information
After passing through the center of the town, which is busy with construction activities, you begin the long ascent of the Col du Galibier. At a certain point you will be riding above the tree line, with alternating, fascinating views across the Alps. You then reach the infamous U-turn at Plan Lachat. From there, things get more difficult. The combination of altitude and steep slope conspire to slow you down. Towards the top of the Galibier the road slashes through a spectacular wall of snow, which is meters high at some places. Next comes a nearly dead straight false flat in the direction of the village of Bourg-d Oisans. Right before the village you turn right and, after 50 meters, arrive at the official starting line where the climb to l’Alpe d'Huez begins. This climb has long, difficult sections with 10% gradients and numerous hairpin curves. The finish is in the village of l’Alpe d'Huez, near the tunnel entrance. This film was shot during the last week in May

MAJORCA TOUR - SPAIN

Visit Majorca, Europe’s most popular cycling island. The start is located to the north of Algaida on the western side of the island. The picturesque route takes you on quiet roads through a gently rolling landscape. You cycle through small villages passing by Petra, Sa Vall and the rather busier towns of Manacor and Llucmajor. The many small hills on the way to Algaida makes this a demanding route. After the five kilometre climb of the Cura you finish at the Monastery of Randa.
