| This morning, it was
raining, and the railroad workers were on strike so we decided to
drive our rental car to the show. Traffic was extremely heavy
driving to the Milan fairgrounds which is located 10 km outside of
the city. Driving in Milano makes you wake up quickly.
For anyone who loves a challenge, driving in Italy is a must!
You feel like you are on your bicycle in the middle of a pack trying
to hang in without getting dropped. It's a wonderful way to
start the morning - almost as good as the morning espresso!
As soon as we arrived, the sun
decided to come out and brighten our day. We saw as a good
omen. From our first stop to our last, we were overwhelmed
with the exciting new products for the upcoming season. Anyone
who claims Italians have lost their edge in the cycling production
world is dead wrong. The passion and excitement was felt
throughout the complex.
We spent most of the day
stopping by our friends' booths to say hello and have a chat.
After our little meet and greet, we started to get down to business.
We have quite a schedule planned over the next several days.
While today, we relished in seeing and talking to super cyclists
like Alessandro Petacchi, Eddy Merckx and Mario Cippolini, we are
planning on extensively reviewing the great collections of
Colnago,
De Rosa, Campagnolo, Pinarello, Deda Elementi, Nalini, Assos.
Of course, there are so many other great manufacturers that we will
encounter, we are anxious to share this experience with you!s
